Jelisa Carma

My name is Jelisa Carma, and I hold a master’s degree in psychology and am currently licensed as an LPC-A. I hold years of experience in working with youth and adults in helping navigate their personal journeys towards healing and growth. Prior to receiving my license, I’ve held many roles, including a social worker in intensive foster and care clinical services, an investigator for out-of-home abuse and neglect, and as a qualified mental health professional for the Department of Juvenile Justice, and recently the Department of Corrections. Working in these areas has allowed me to gain valuable practical experience through real-world involvement from different aspects, which is why I am a firm believer in therapy being beneficial to anyone. With the understanding that no two individuals are the same.  As an eclectic therapist, my approach consists of a personalized and compassionate combination of evidence-based techniques such as CBT, person-centered, talk therapy, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, solution- focused, and behavioral therapy, with respect for your unique life journey. Together, we’ll create a safe place for you to heal, find clarity, and move forward with confidence. No cookie-cutter! In my free time, I like to binge-watch my favorite shows, spend time with my family, and relax.
