Stephanie Linton

I am a Columbia native and went to school at the University of South Carolina for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. My undergraduate degree is in experimental psychology and my graduate degree is in counseling. I graduated with my counseling degree in 2020 and began working in schools as a school counselor. During my 4 years in the education system I have worked with children ages 4-18. I have helped many children deal with many different situations and diagnoses. It is always very exciting for me when one of my kids hits one of their goals and makes progress in what we work on together. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between the counselor and client to work towards the goal we set for you. I use strategies from CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy with play. Play is an important aspect of therapy with children since that is one of the main ways in which they communicate and model what they see and feel. I also will work with parents and guardians of children as they require support from both me and all the other important adults in their lives to reach the goals we will work towards in our sessions together.
